Cyclamen
Cyclamen is a three bedroom, two bathroom gite located at the front of the site. It has a view across the valley to the village and chateau from its large paved terrace. An additional grassed area with trees provides welcome shade in the summer months. The gite has spacious accommodation over two floors for up to six people plus a small child or baby. The gite has air conditioning.

LIVING & DINING
LIVING & DININGThe large living/kitchen/dining room has double doors onto the terrace. The dining table seats 6 people. A highchair is available on request. The living area has two sofas and a coffee table around the log burner. There is a TV with freesat box showing English programmes. The well equipped corner kitchen includes a full range of crockery, glasses and cooking utensils, electric kettle, toaster and coffee-maker with a fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, electric hob/extractor and dishwasher.

SLEEPING
SLEEPINGThe double bedroom on the ground floor has french windows leading out to the rear of the gite. A further ground floor bedroom with single bunk beds is accessed from the living room. The first floor bedroom has a king size bed and an en-suite. All rooms have storage and offer light bright accommodation. A cot or a folding bed can be provided to make the accommodation more flexible for families.

BATHROOMS
The ground floor bathroom is adjacent to the double bedroom and has a shower, toilet and washbasin. The first floor bedroom has an en suite bathroom with a toilet, washbasin and shower.

OUTDOOR SPACE
OUTDOOR SPACEDouble doors open onto a paved terrace with garden furniture for outdoor dining, along with a fixed BBQ. Sun loungers and parasol complete this lovely sun trap. The terrace leads onto a grassed, shaded area with mature trees and a picnic table.
The grounds of the gites are well maintained with hedges separating each property. Cyclamen has a parking space to the rear of the property and additional parking for visitors at the back of the site.

Meet the owners
We bought Cyclamen as a holiday home over 15 years ago, during this period we have gradually improved and updated the gite. Following retirement we made the easy decision to make Cyclamen and Carlux our permanent home. After four years living in our gite we have now purchased and moved into another property in the village. As a result of our recent move we are pleased to make our gite available for holiday lets once again.

It is hard to do Cyclamen justice on a written review but put simply it was the best family holiday we have ever had. The gite is extremely well equipped with plenty of space (we took a 2 year old who came with plenty of toys!) and is situated in prime location for the views of the chateau and village. The view from the Cyclamen patio actually took my breath away the first time I saw it. Cyclamen is really close to the heated pool on-site but you cannot hear any of the noise from Cyclamen. There was a badminton tournament arranged while we were there and we chose to participate and had an absolutely fabulous time, we got to know residents in other Gîtes as well as the caretaker, Nick. Nick was extremely helpful, especially on leaving. We were blessed with the weather but there is plenty to do within a short drive no matter what the weather. We will definitely be visiting again.

“This gite is very well equipped inside and out. The site itself is secluded, quiet and also well equipped so it is very suitable for children - we had a 2 yr old grandson with us and he had a brilliant time. The pool is safe and the site management is efficient and friendly. There is so much to do within 30mins drive of the gites making this a great place for a holiday. “We had a wonderful week in the Dordogne with ‘Cyclamen’ as a superbly located base. The gite is very well equipped and was ideal for our week’s holiday. We made full use of the outdoor (heated) pool. With chateaux around every corner, great food, walks to local gardens and of course canoeing on the Dordogne it was everything and more than we had hoped for. The village shop in Carlux was conveniently within walking distance and we had a good meal at the restaurant/bar. The bakery van brought us fresh croissants each morning for our leisurely breakfasts outside on the patio. Anemone
Anemone is the gite closest to the pool. So if you feel like a fresh morning swim or to cool off in the evening, you are in the right gite. Our lovely terrace, with a built-in barbecue, has a stunning view over the village and castle.
Begonia
Located at the front of the site Begonia has stunning views over the village and castle from its large terrace. The Gite offers spacious accommodation over two floors for up to six people plus small child or baby.
Dahlia
Dahlia has been significantly modernised and improved over the past 12 years. Located in the middle of the site it has an L shaped decked terrace. The Gite offers spacious modern accommodation over two floors for up to six people plus a small child and baby.
Eglantine
Eglantine is a cozy, modern gite located in the middle of the site with a beautiful view at the 12th century castle of Carlux. Our gite offers spacious accommodation over two floors for up to six people plus a small child or baby. So if you are looking for a well-equipped, lovely gite to spend time with your family or friends, you are more than welcome to stay with us.
Fuchsia
Located in the middle of the site, Fuchsia offers spacious accommodation over two levels, sleeping up to four people. It has a sunny terrace overlooking the valley, through the trees. This cottage is ideal for a couple or a small family.
Giroflee (not available in 2024)
Giroflee (Wallflower) has been improved and maintained to a high standard and is a much loved and frequently used holiday home. Located at the front of the site it has stunning views over the village and castle.
Hortensia
Located at the front of the site, Hortensia has spectacular views of the valley from its large paved terrace. Hortensia attracts plenty of returning customers and with its built-in log fire is a popular gite for the colder months. The cottage is fully air-conditioned.
Iris
Located in front of the site, Iris has a spectacular view of the valley from its large, secluded terrace. The gite offers spacious accommodation over two floors for up to five people plus a small child or baby.
Jasmine
Located at the back of the site and next to the forest, Jasmine has a large, secluded terrace. The gite offers you privacy and spacious accommodation over two floors for up to six people.
La Tour
Located at the front of the site La Tour (The tower) has a spectacular view over the valley from its large elevated terrace. Its ideal for a couple and has a large upper floor bedroom with a double bed. La Tour is a detached Gite set to the side of the site.
Magnolia
Located adjacent to the woodland to the west of the site, Magnolia is situated slightly away from other gites. Whilst still only a stone’s throw from the pool and children’s play areas, Magnolia is ideal for families who prefer a quieter area.
