Magnolia
Located adjacent to the woodland to the west of the site, Magnolia is situated slightly away from other gites (other than its semi-detached twin, Jasmine). Whilst still only a stone’s throw from the pool and children’s play areas, Magnolia is ideal for families who prefer a quieter area.
Magnolia is the largest gite by floor area, giving it a spacious feel. It can accommodate up to six people.
On the ground floor, Magnolia comprises a good-sized kitchen/dining room and a separate well-sized lounge. With two single sofa-beds, the lounge can be turned easily into a supplementary bedroom. Upstairs, there are two large bedrooms - one with a double bed and a family room with a double bed and a single bed – in total, sleeping five comfortably. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, one of which is en-suite.
Built later than the other Gites on the site Magnolia is particularly well insulated which makes it suitable for summer and winter use. Outside, Magnolia has a well-sized paved terrace, which faces the sun most of the day. The terrace has a fixed BBQ and garden furniture to seat six for outdoor dining. There are also recliner chairs and two smaller tables and chairs ideal for taking tea in the afternoon!
Magnolia has been owned by David and Michele Harrison since 2006.
LIVING & DINING
The large kitchen/dining room has French windows that open onto a paved terrace and a window at the rear looking out to the woods. The large dining table seats six people (a highchair is available on request).
The kitchen has a full range of crockery, glasses and cooking utensils. Amenities include dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and medium-size table top oven with hob and extractor. Whilst Magnolia has no washing machine, the communal washing machines are located opposite the gite, less a twenty-second walk away! Appliances include electric kettle, toaster and coffee-maker.
A door leads into the separate well-sized lounge. The lounge has two sofas (convertible into beds), an armchair, and a large TV with accompanying DVD player. The TV can be connected, via a HDMI-converter cable, to lap-tops. However, the TV does not receive TV stations independently. A selection of DVDs is available. The lounge also contains a wall cupboard with essential items, such as ironing board and iron, fans, clothes-horse etc.
SLEEPING
Both large bedrooms are on the upper floor.
The master bedroom is light, spacious and looks out onto the woods. It has a double-bed and a well-sized ensuite bathroom. A second family bedroom has a window looking across the other gites, and has both a double and single bed. Both bedrooms have ample wardrobe space, alongside chests of drawers and bedside tables with lamps. The main bathroom is next to this second bedroom.
With two single sofa-beds, the lounge can be turned easily into a supplementary bedroom.
BATHROOMS
The master bedroom has an en suite shower room comprising toilet, shower and wash basin. A separate bathroom is located next to the family bedroom and also has toilet, shower and wash basin.
OUTDOOR SPACE
There is well-sized paved terrace which faces the sun most of the day. The terrace has a fixed BBQ and garden furniture to comfortably seat six for outdoor dining. A large parasol shades the dining table. There are also recliner chairs for relaxing, as well as two smaller tables and chairs.
Magnolia has well maintained hedges and a small garden wall that separates it from other gites. It also has a dedicated shady parking space to the rear and additional parking for visitors at the rear of the site.
HIGHLIGHTS
Being the largest gite, Magnolia has a very spacious feel, ideal for larger families. Personal items have been kept to a minimum, permitting guests to put their own stamp on their stay.
Magnolia is well-insulated. This means it stays a little warmer when the weather turns chilly but also remains remarkably cool on very hot days.
There are panel heaters and the hot water tank heats overnight.
QUESTIONS?
Meet the owners
Hi!
We’ve been coming to this area in the Dordogne from England for almost thirty years. In 2006, we decided to buy Magnolia as a foothold for us to use in later years, and, in the meantime, to make it available to holidaymakers to the area.
As the years have gone by, we now have a bit more time on our hands, and we’re able to spend a few weeks each year in our wonderful holiday home. We hope you like it as much as we do.
We’ve tried to include everything you might need in the gite but without cluttering it up. We believe you should be able to put your own stamp on Magnolia during your stay.

Reviews
Stayed in the 2nd week of August and the gite and the complex is great, very quiet and peaceful! Pool is excellent with enough good-quality sunbeds and parasols. The gite was spotless and had most things we needed, it is the first gite we've stayed at that doesn't have a washing machine but there are facilities onsite (charged as an extra). Wifi is not the best and the 4G reception is much faster and reliable - assuming your devices can access. This serves as a great base to explore the area and I would recommend this gite and the Gîtes de Carlux complex for those wanting a relaxing break.
